The Irish Economics Association Annual Conference took place in Thurles on May 7-8. As always, ISWE organised a number of events.
Excellent work was presented by female economists across the board, with plenty of interest in gender issues both among presenters. Special recognition goes to our ISWE prize winner this year – Dora Tuda of the ESRI, who won the prize for her paper titled “The Unintended Consequences of a Pension Age Increase. Evidence from Ireland”.
Thanks to all who came along to the ISWE drinks reception where you heard updates on our recent activities, including our new committee, with Tara McIndoe Calder as Chair, Edel Doherty as Deputy Chair, Míde Griffin as Secretary and Bernadette Power as Treasurer.
Finally, kudos to those who took part in our annual ISWE 5k.

Thanks to the Central Bank of Ireland for organising a wonderful event and to the Anner Hotel and Hayes Hotel for hosting us over the two days.
